well, looks like this week is going by fast! why does it seem to do that as i get older? it just reminds me to quit procrastinating and get things i want to do done! like right now, i really should be making a couple of "thank you" cards instead of being on the computer......anyway just a quick post to show a couple of layouts that i got done this past weekend! both of these layouts were made using the february kit "bakers dozen" from studio calico. go check them out and subscribe, you wont regret it! well, maybe your wallet will 'cause you'll want to buy every kit and add-on they have,lol........enjoy :)

ps. just wanted to note that the layout above "in her eyes" is a total lift from lisa truesdell. she is a design team member over at studio calico (favorite place on the net) and this layout made me swoon! i dont usually "totally copy" people's stuff but in this case, i had no other choice! haha, thanks lisa!

my girlfriends and i went to the beach for a weekend of scrapbooking and good times! as usual we all acted waaaayyy too goofy and cut up like we'd lost our minds but it was just the thing we all needed! robin owns the condo right on the beachfront and she is awesome in making it available for us to enjoy several times throughout the year! and being that we all live within 30 mins. of driving there, it's perfect! however this weekend we got a rare treat here in charleston......it snowed! yes, although not much to speak of on the beach but inland we got about 4 or 5 inches! the dogs loved it but the poor cat didn't appreciate it much at all :( here are some pics of our weekend at wild dunes! enjoy

today i thought i would post the sunday sketch from studio calico. every sunday now, they post a sketch on their blog and invite anyone to join in on the fun! just create a layout based on the sketch and link it back to this post on the blog! they randomly draw one or two winners per week and you receive a $5.00 gift certificate to use at the shop! pretty cool huh? come on and play along....it's a lot of fun and it has really motivated me to get scrappin' (plus you get to look at everyone else's take on the sketch) have a great day!

well, ive been waiting for you all week saturday! hooray! gonna go see a movie with my partna' brianna, aka my daughter, ha! and after that.....well, anything we want cause it's saturday!!!!!!
anybody see the "hope for haiti" last night? of course you did. everybody was probably watchin'!
well, this was my favorite of the night... go and watch it. im sure you'll be amazed! if your not, somethins wrong!

well i for one am reaaaaally glad it's friday! whew, what a week. lots of stuff to do around the house plus filling out my FAFSA forms for my daughters college is a pain in the butt!! got a layout done using studio calico's january kit! woohoo! i really like how this one turned out. i got some inspiration from the gallery there at sc. love anything with a banner on it. they are so fun to do! hoping to do some more pages over this weekend. my daughter and i are going to see avatar either tonight or tomorrow so i'll let you know how it was, although you probably already know it's good cause we are probably the only ones who haven't seen it yet, ha! oh well, have a great weekend everyone!! oh, before i forget. if any of you out there love jenni bowlin then check out her site to see her new line homespun and all the embellishments to go with! just remember to use a napkin cause your gonna drool over your keyboard when you do! hehee!

Well, i wanted to share something that really made me smile. My only daughter is a senior in high school this year and she applied to several colleges. She got accepted to all of them but "the one she reaaallly wanted" was this one! USC in Columbia, South Carolina! Now I have to say she has really good taste in colleges. I have always loved the Gamecocks and always had dreams of going there myself back in the day. But there was also another side of me that never wanted to leave my mom and dad! ha, imagine that! Anyway I had a feeling she would get accepted there so I grabbed my camera and snapped away! Congratulations Brianna, mom's proud of you! Heres a layout I did using my January kit from Studio Calico! Hello out there! hope everyone's week has started out smoothly! i am off on monday's so for me the week doesn't start until tomorrow. it's always a little slow this time of year at a salon. the rush of the holidays is over and things are back to "normal", ha!

tomorrow is my sister's birthday! yea!!! she will be 31..... i can't believe that much time has passed since she was born. it really does seem like yesterday that i was picked up early from middle school and taken to the hospital to see my little baby sister! wow! i was 14 yrs old at the time and a spoiled only child.... a little "annoyed" that i wouldn't be getting all the attention anymore, but in the end, i guess she grew on me a little, heehee :) i love you more than you know Amy!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!

Ugh! i cant believe it's all over! i really dont like this time of year. i tend to get a little down after all the fun and getting together of the holidays. it just feels like a letdown after all the fun! i also am not a fan of cold weather. there's no sunshine, its gray, cold! i guess it could be worse though. at least we dont get snow! oh wait....the weatherman is actually calling for some snow flurries this thursday or friday! great! oh well, we'll make it.
enough about that. its a new year and time for some new rules! i hate the word resolutions! most of us never stick to them anyway so maybe we should just say we are gonna try our best to do better and just go from there. me, im gonna try to be better about what i put into my "big mouth" also, gotta move more! you know, maybe actually go for a walk! ha... no promises, just gonna reaaaally try!! oh, and im also gonna make myself scrap more. i have sooo... many supplies. all the latest and greatest stuff out there you know, so i may as well actually make something. you know, like a layout or card or SOMETHING! jeeesh also, im not gonna be buying as much stuff. now this one will be hard!!! im an addict when it comes to scrapbook supplies. i will still subscribe to my favorite kit club, Studio Calico, but no more running out to the local Micheals or AC Moore every couple of days! very bad! so who's with me? any of you out there trying to do better? let me know......

Well, I thought I was going to have the pictures of my recipe book on here by now but I had to work late so.... will try to have them up by tomorrow! I did get started on my 25 Days of Christmas book! Actually I have been getting it together for the last couple of weeks now and only have a few more days to go! Its nice having it done and just being able to record daily activities and such. I got the idea for this, of course, from Ali Edwards. She has been doing this for the last few years and it is really a cool idea! I like it because for some reason I have never scrapped a whole lot of Christmas pictures. Dont know why, just never have. Maybe I'm intimidated because it's such a special time and I dont want to "mess it up"....thats dumb, I know! Anyway, with this "journal" of sorts, I will have a day to day account of everything our family did during the month. And I will also add smaller size pictures whenever I can! I think this will work out better for me in the end. I'm gonna try it out anyway! Are any of you doing this? Let me know if you are and if you have any cool tips. I will post the first few days of my Christmas journal tomorrow! Thanks for dropping by and have a good one.

Cyber Monday Blues

Hi all. Boy have I got the blues! I spent my allowance over the weekend and now there are some really great deals via the web today and I'm broke!! Man was it hard to resist those Vera Bradley deals they sent me! I mean, come on, the exact purse I have been wanting was on sale 1/2 price! It was hard, but I resisted. I'll live..... On another note, I am very excited to be teaching a class tomorrow night at Charleston Scrapbooking in North Charleston. It's a really cute "favorite recipes" book made with the milk chocolate chipboard book by Basic Grey and decorated with the Nook and Pantry line of paper! Instead of using traditional index cards to write the recipes on, I substituted shipping tags with the little strings attatched! When you need it, just take the tag out of the pocket and throw it in your purse to take to the store if needed! I am in the process of taking pictures so I will post them tomorrow! Hope you like!

Autumn Blessings card

I know that I haven't posted in a while and I am going to try and get better at this one day, ha! Anyway, I made a card the other day using the gorgeous paper line Indian Summer by Basic Grey. The colors are so pretty that I have a hard time actually cutting in to them! They really remind me of Fall, and with this blast of cold air we are having it just seems right to be making something Fall like! So... I wanted to make some cards to send out to a few friends and family letting them know I am thankful for them! This is my first one and hopefully tonight or tomorrow I will get to a few more! I will post them as soon as I get them done! Thanks for looking,

A day at the beach!

What a beautiful day at the beach we had! The whole family (well almost whole) came out to Folly Beach to celebrate the end of the rain that has plagued us for the past couple of weeks...ugh!! My nieces Ashlynne and Katie, Cianna, Ashlynne's friend, Brianna and her best friend Brooke, Colin, Brianna's boyfriend, my beautiful sister Amy, my husband Henry and my mom were all there! All in all it was a great day! We hope to go back next weekend too. It's pretty cool that we live so close to the beaches. We really don't have to go on vacation to enjoy such a beautiful place! Well, thats all for now..... more later!

Hello out there! Just wanted to post a few pictures of the Tattered Angels glimmer mist album I will be teaching this Friday night at A Scrapbook Store in Mount Pleasant! I just love working with glimmer mists! You really cant make a mistake with these. If you do think you have made one, simply go over it with another color and it looks like it was meant to be that way! hee hee Well, I hope to see some of you over there at the store. Well, hello out there! It's Easter Eve and I thought I would update my blog seeing how I haven't done so in a while. I'm posting some pictures of my daughter's 17th birthday party that was on the 30th of March! hey, better late than never, huh? I hope everyone has a beautiful and blessed Easter tomorrow and I will be spending mine with my family. We are having dinner at my mother's house and afterwards an egg hunt for my nieces Ashlynne and Katie! to me, that's really the best part of the day. Nothing like watching the little ones look for those eggs! See ya' :)

Hey out there! My friends and I spent the most awesome weekend ever thanks to our new friend Robin! She was gracious enough to invite us to her beach house at Wild Dunes, in Charleston! I have never laughed so much in all my life! We stayed up waayyy... too late scrappin' those pics and namin' those tunes, and basically acting like we had no sense, but what fun we had! and talk about food... I'm sure I gained at least 5 pounds! thank you Robin for a weekend I wont soon forget! and remember......i'll pop a cap in your *** if you act all whackkk! hahaha

This is a class I am teaching at "A Scrapbook Store" in Mt. Pleasant. "Things I love about You".... this could be used for pictures of your hubby or kids or even your four-legged friends! I used 6" sized brown paper lunch bags.... really fun to make and very easy! Just in time for Valentines Day! thanks for looking :)

Fun acrylic Christmas album!!

These are some sneak peeks at an acrylic album class I'm teaching at my lss! I cant wait! It is chock full of Tim Holtz's seasonal grungeboard and distress stickles! these were really neat to work with, I love how the distress stickles really do look like vintage antique glass. If you haven't tried them yet, you should! I also used some of Tim's christmas stamps and Quickutz' new "Jolly" shapes and phrases... what fun, and thanks for looking!

This was my first attempt at making ATC's, also known as artist trading cards. I participated in a swap at one of my favorite online scrapbooking sites, Studio Calico! I made two identical cards and sent them to two people that I was paired up with, and in return, I received two different cards from these same people. It was very fun to receive my cards in the mail. They both were beautiful and hopefully I will get a picture of them up in the next day or so! If your not familiar with ATC's, there is plenty of info on the net to get you started! Some sites even host swaps that you can participate in as well. Maybe I will also post some pictures of my Christmas cards that I have been working on. Thats all for now....
